Takeaway articles will now have scoring cards along with them at the bottom of the article. Each topic will have individual scoring categories. Bike Parks and Ride Spots will be scored on three categories. Those categories will have subcategories inside them for the judge to consider while scoring.
The 3 Main Categories:
1.) Location & Accessibility – This score will be based off of the distance away from town, the price of admission or lift ticket, etc; as well as their hours, their parking, and the distance from public transportation.
2.) Trails & Features – Pretty self explanatory category. How nice are the trails? Do they have flow? Do they have features such as jumps, wall rides, berms, and drops? Is there a variety of different difficulties and styles of riding(Slopestyle/Technical DH/ Flowy DH/Etc.)? And in general, is it fun to ride?
3.) People & Vibes – Another pretty self explanatory one. Is it overly crowded, or does everyone have enough space? Are the people chill, or do you feel like you’re in the wrong part of town? Do any pro riders make appearances? Are there any events to partake in? What are the chances of meeting a new riding buddy?
That’s basically it. If you have any comments or questions for me or about this scoring system, drop a comment below! I’ll get back to you!
